Thursday, September 25th, 2008: APPY Best Offensive Player Picked, Crosscutters Ito Wins Outstanding Hitter Award
This season's premier hitter in the Appalachian League was Kazushi Ito. He really battered opposing pitchers by hitting .417 with 33 home runs, 79 runs batted in and 89 runs scored. In all, he rang up 95 hits in 228 at-bats, walked 67 times, and compiled a .558 on base percentage. For this season-long hitting spree, the Williamsport center fielder was acclaimed the Outstanding Hitter Award winner for the 2008 season.
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008: Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner Announced in Appalachian League
Dae-hee Chon was really special this season. When he was on the mound for Princeton, there was magic in the ballpark. He started 14 games, logged 115.2 innings, and conjured up 12 victories with just 1 defeats. Chon disposed of 83 batters on strikeouts, walked 29, and rolled up a 0.70 ERA. Opposing batters had a .146 average against him. For this special year, the Appalachian League recognized him as the 2008 Outstanding Pitcher Award winner.

The super defenders for 2008 have been selected by SION. The Appalachian League's finest fielders will be recognized tonight at the annual sports awards banquet. The Glove Wizard Award trophies will go to this group of stars:
