Eliezer Alfonzo, Spokane's catcher, emerged atop the Outstanding Hitter Award balloting with a shiny new trophy to show for his spectacular season.
Alfonzo compiled a .300 average, drove home 39 runners, and socked 10 home runs. Buttressing his case, Alfonzo logged 24 extra-base hits and 120 total bases. |  | Thursday, October 2nd, 2008: West Tenn's Byung-Hyun Arciliares Named NWL Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner After Outstanding Season Byung-Hyun Arciliares was really special this season. When he was on the mound for West Tenn, there was magic in the ballpark. He started 19 games, logged 119.2 innings, and conjured up 13 victories with just 1 defeats. Arciliares disposed of 108 batters on strikeouts, walked 20, and rolled up a 0.98 ERA. Opposing batters had a .177 average against him.
