Leyson Septimo went on a year-long hitting rampage against California League pitchers and collected the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2008. The Lancaster left fielder battered the opposition for 156 hits in 504 at-bats with 73 runs batted in and 80 runs scored. This season he hit .310 and has 26 home runs and 25 doubles among his 51 extra-base hits.

These numbers, paired with 26 quality starts and 3 shutouts made him a logical choice for Outstanding Pitcher Award honors.
